"Aaron did a wonderful job dealing with my insurance and was able to get significantly more than my insurer was offering. He also helped me get reimbursed by the other insurance company for my car rental. Can’t say enough about his professional approach"

"The day after our auto accident, my wife and I were referred to Aaron at Auto TLC separately by two different sources: the local salvage yard that had our vehicle and a lawyer who is a trusted family friend. When our insurance company offered a payout that was obviously below fair market value for our car, we called Aaron immediately. Within the 2-week timeline Aaron quoted us, the insurance payout for the accurate value of our car was in our bank account, saving us thousands of dollars..."

"Aaron was great to work with.

Bottom line is I ended up with $2000 in my pocket that I wouldn’t have had and Aaron did all the work!"

Marvin

"Aaron was super easy to work with, responsive and most importantly got me a few thousand dollars more that what the insurance company offered. I hope I don't need his services again, but if you do... don't hesitate. He's the only trustworthy person in a complicated process that works against you. I'm grateful I hired him."

"Aaron Castillo was a breath of fresh air at a time when we were unsure about where to go with our diminished value claim from a rear end collision. He is well informed, thorough and courteous and he acted quickly to resolve our claim successfully. I would recommend Auto TLC to anyone in this unfortunate position."

Your Diminished Value
Questions Answered.

How do I file a diminished value claim with an insurance company?

To file a diminished value claim, you must show evidence that your vehicle lost value after repairs. Your insurance adjuster may deny your self-researched valuation forcing you to hire a certified appraiser.

Many online services offer diminished value appraisals. Don't be fooled, a professional diminished value report alone rarely results in a fair payout.

You need professional negotiation and an appraisal to get a fair diminished value payout.

Step 1. Request the full CCC or Mitchell valuation report.
Step 2. Make sure your repairs are finished.
Step 3. Gather accurate market comps online. (We this for you for free.)
Step 4. Submit a written counter offer with evidence.

Total Loss Champions will do this all for you.
We research comparable vehicles for you and help you come up with a reasonable counteroffer. Use our free appraisal service to save hours searching for comparable vehicles.

Important: Adjusters often deny self-researched comparable values. The only remedy is to invoke the "Right to Appraisal" (RTA) or the appraisal clause in your policy contract to force a negotiation.

How much does a professional diminished value report typically cost?

Insurers declare a total loss when repairs plus supplemental costs hit about 70–80% of the vehicle’s value. Instead of paying for repairs, they offer you a settlement based on their valuation.

With rising repair costs total loss is increasingly common.

Settlements from Total Loss Champions DV service normally get you more than negotiating alone at no cost to you.

Can you claim diminished value claims for leased vehicles?

No, a vehicle must be owned or financed in order to qualify for diminished value. A leased vehicle would not qualify for a diminished value claim.

Where can I find a diminished value calculator online?

App calculated DVs are not accepted by insurance companies. You need a certified appraisal to dispute the market value of your vehicle.

DV calculators and apps use the 17c formula outlined by a Georgia court in the case of Mabry v. State Farm in 2001. But they are not helpful for disputing your insurance claim. The 17c formula imposes a 10% cap on the market value of your vehicle for DV claims.

Total Loss Champions uses certified appraisals based in statistically verifiable market data supported by actual negotiations from a public adjuster — the part that makes insurers pay.
